I ...The sunflower is gorgeous. They are so cheery!<br />I would think crickets would be an acquired taste =)<br />I've been noticing early signs of fall...lots of crickets singing in the evening. Berries and maple keys thick on the branches. It's dark so early now in the evening.<br />Now the pine cones. I was interested to read that the farm where you got the sunflowers was called "Dahlia May." I took a Dahlia class just today. I can see how it could be almost addicting. So many varieties, shapes and colors. Here they are a labor of love though, because you have to dig out the tubers and store them overwinter, then replant in spring. I believe it combs off it's body with it's legs which have hairs like a comb and the pollen is deposited in these sacs. I could be very wrong but I think that is how it works.<br />I am the same! I suddenly say "stop" to poor Chuck as we are driving. I saw some at a roadside stand on the weekend unfortunately DH was driving along at a good speed and by the time he realized I wanted to stop we were half a mile down the road. ( A good reason to drive more slowly.
