A Door Dilemma

Good morning! A rather dreary day today and cool but it is Friday and it's a long weekend so that makes it good.
Hazy sun through the tree
We are trying to decide what kind of door we should put on this closet. This is our side door which leads obviously into our mud room (what an awful name!)/laundry room. This closet is very large and originally had a set of those white slab doors. We were never to thrilled with them so Chuck took them down a week ago and we are trying to decide what kind of doors to put in their place. Does anyone have any suggestions? Excuse the mess on the floor. Chuck is putting in new trim all around. I hope everyone has some good moments today. Thinking of you Kim.

  1. I have no suggestions. When Chuck's done, I still need a bifold door for the coat closet, which has to be shaved down to fit. I really, really, really need flooring top to bottom too, and since you've been following my personal blog, you KNOW I desperately need trim.

    Just a "hint." LOL.

PS Mom called me back later yesterday evening to say that during the time Harry's daughter and son-in-law were visiting, a nurse was able to get Harry up and to the bathroom, so he's not (mercifully) paralyzed. Thinks he's in Newfoundland, though!

    1. Kim, we would love to come and help you! I know how tough it is trying to do things by yourself. I know I am spoiled having a handy husband. I'm glad Harry was able to get up. It is so important that he stay mobile if he wants to be able to go home. Newfoundland is a beautiful place so there are worse places he could be! My Dad constantly was travelling(in his mind anyway).

  2. sliders; personally I would choose mirrored ones as well, as they will reflect the light and make the area look bigger. Also not to difficult to install, but that's easy for me to say, as I am married to a man who is a DIY king!!

    1. We were thinking of mirrored sliders, Gill as we have them on the front hallway closet. One more job for hubby!

  3. I think I would build some nice shelves along the wall and leave it open. I'd put baskets on the shelves to store things in.

    1. The tile guy suggested that too. I am kind of swaying to that idea.

    2. the only problem with that is that you HAVE to keep the area tidy all the time; behind closed doors you can hide a multitude of messes....LOL
