The floor is done!

John and Rob are my hero's. The two of them have worked so hard to get the floor done. I love how it looks. The original floor was a dark green which we hated. The previous owner had put it in 20+ years ago and it was long overdue to be changed. The guys very kindly moved our fridge and stove back into the kitchen so I can cook properly. They also will be moving my washer back in tomorrow so I can deal with the mountain of wash!

We (meaning Chuck) will be painting this room the same colour as the living room which you can just see through the door to the right. We have not painted the family room at the end of the kitchen but I suspect we will do it the same colour too.

It is rather cold here today. I wore capri's for our walk this morning and I was quite cold. We go for a 40 minute walk everyday. Usually from May to October we go at 5:30 a.m., then October to May we walk when Chuck gets off work at 4:00p.m. Obviously this will all change when Chuck retires in two weeks. I still want to walk early in the morning, just not at 5:30. I prefer the early mornings. No traffic and lots of birds singing.

Cardinals are frequent visitors at our feeders. I love when both the male and female are there together and the male with such gallantry feeds the female. So pretty. I hope you all have a good evening.

    1. Thank you Caren for your kind comment. I am not too computer savvy so I will have to figure out how to add "follow by email". The bird is actually a cardinal. My name is Robin!

  2. The floor looks fantastic, well done! Things are moving along quickly. :-)

I love cardinals, such vibrant colour. They're hard to get good pics of in our area, as I see them mostly in tree tops, WAY up.

    1. I have a very good window in the basement that looks out into the backyard where the feeders are so it is very easy to get pictures. Thanks for the compliment on the floors. The guys are just here now this morning cleaning up.
