The Planting is Done!

It is done! All 192 plants are planted. Hard to see in the pictures but I did them in clumps of four scattered through the garden. It took me two hours and a couple bottles of water. It was very hot and muggy. I think the maple keys just add something to the overall design too, don't you think?:) We have many maple trees on our lot and they are shedding the keys like mad now. We have raked up a garbage bag full but they keep coming!
The iris's are just coming out now. They will be a deep purple colour. A number of plants are just about to bloom. I wish I had taken closer "before" pictures as many neighbours have commented on what a change we have made to the gardens.
This female Robin kept me company for most of the time. She has a nest in the neighbours tree and she and her mate are frequently in our yard. They are both very tame.
She had a bath just before I went inside. I had just filled it with cold water so I am sure it felt great.

Very cool here today. We wore mittens on our walk this morning. We finally got a good amount of rain last night into this morning. You could almost hear the lawns sighing in relief.

I hope everyone has had a peaceful weekend and you did something you enjoy. Take care.

                                                                             Robin

  1. 192 plants! Jeepers, that's an entire nursery's worth. :-) Can't wait to see pics when they've all set in and taken and are in full bloom. Your garden will be gorgeous.

Yes, it's FREEZING here today and I wish I had worn not only my long-sleeved tee-shirt under the rain jacket, but also a warm sweater AND gloves when I went out. (Some retail therapy I ought not to have indulged in. Not expensive, but not exactly in line with your bargain finds of yesterday. LOL.)

    1. Kim, I was shocked when I counted the cell packs. My back is feeling all 192 of them today! The garden will look so much better in a few weeks when the plants grow a bit more. We did some shopping this morning too and found a pedestal sink for the powder room. Not a bargain like yesterday's finds but it is lovely.

I love to watch robins in the bird bath most of all. They really seem to enjoy a lot!!!

    1. I just put my head down and went at it. Thanks for the compliment. Robins are one of my favourite birds, for obvious reason!
