If I Were A Carpenter.

It wasn't quite as hot yesterday but it was still HOT! I did my walk around the gardens to check  for weeds and thought I would take a few photos. Lots of lovely flowers still.
More dahlias continue to pop open all different colours.
 I love this one.
The red dahlias are very small.
The purple ones are very large.
As I was wandering around the gardens Janice came home and called over to me and invited me in for a cool drink. We had a quick 20 minute chat and I left with more tomatoes. They are having a very good year for tomatoes.
I made a plum platz for us to snack on. Pardon two pieces cut out. We had to test it for quality purposes.
Here is Richard the plumber/carpenter/painter. Very nice guy, 27, just bought a house and going to be married this weekend.
The tile behind the shower was glued on so tightly most of it came off in one piece. Special drywall is going back behind the shower. It has a name but I can't think of it now.
Here is the jacuzzi tub. The striped white tile is gone! YAAA!
Richard is taking the vanity for the bathroom in his house so he took it apart. He is also taking the white cabinet I hate so much. It is going to be painted and "funked" (his word) up a bit.
This area is where the old shower was. Everything is in very good shape, There was no evidence of any leaking ever occurring which is wonderful since the house is 25 years old. Richard said the bathroom was so well built. That bit of news makes us very happy. The new shower is being installed today and possibly the toilet.
One day down, ? more to go!
Take care and have a good day.
Robin

  1. It looks like things are coming along just fine! Congrats and good luck to Richard and his fiancée, they'll have good weather for their wedding.

BTW, I can promise you my bathroom was NOT well-built. I shudder to think what's behind the walls, when/if the bathroom ever is gutted.

Have a good day...I just need to make it through today's sticky weather and then I HOPE tomorrow it will be more bearable inside my house and outside too!

    1. Hi Kim, yes so far so good!
It is always a gamble when walls start coming down. I had pictured mold or a leak behind the drywall.
Overnight tonight it is supposed to go down to 15C here so I imagine you will be cooler too. I am very much looking forward to the cooler weather. One more day!
      Take care.

    1. I do love dahlias too and these ones especially as they were a gift from a neighbour.
Richard is very hard working. We are very fortunate to have him doing our bathroom.

  3. I like the way you use song titles. The flowers are beautiful! Our house was build in 1989. I would love to update some things. Probably never happen though. :)

    1. Thanks Henny Penny. I love music especially old stuff.
The previous owner had very different taste then we do. We purchased the house for a very good price so we are able to do all the renovations.

I don't know why Richard is at work! Maybe his bride to be is off this week so she is handling things.

  6. Pretty flowers. The cake looks delicious as does the tomatoes. Not such a great year around here for tomatoes though we did get some nice ones.
Renovation coming along nicely. Goes much faster when someone else is doing the work. : )

    1. Too bad it's not been a good year for tomatoes for you.
The Reno does go so much quicker when others are doing it!
