All Our Past Times

Happy Thanksgiving to all Canadian readers. It is a lovely day here today, bright and sunny. I dug up some photos of Thanksgivings past and thought I would share them with you.
Every year at Ball's Falls they have a wonderful festival on Thanksgiving weekend. Our family went many times over the years. The photo above was taken there in the 1970's. I love my brother's pants!
Here I am standing with my Mum at Hogback Mountain in Vermont on our way to New Hampshire for the Thanksgiving weekend. I am sure there is liquorice and cheese in those bags we are holding. We vacationed in New Hampshire from 1969 to 1982 in the Summer and sometimes in the Fall. This photo was taken in  the mid 1970's.
This photo was from the same trip but we now are in Maine. I remember this trip very well as it was so cold!

We stayed in a little town called Laconia. Beautiful. Some of the movie "On Golden Pond" was shot in this area.
Thanksgiving 1976 we stayed home and my brother took this photo of all of us. That was the year we all had joined Weight Watchers. My Dad was so thin! I love my sister's Farrah Fawcett hair. Her hair was naturally curly like that. It was good we were 6 years apart. I would not want to have had to compete with her for boyfriends. She was beautiful.
I just thought I would throw this photo in because it is so cute. Simon is on the left and Sonja on the right. They were brother and sister. Sonja was the runt of the litter as you can tell. She was very tiny!

I hope everyone is enjoying their day.
Oh, by the way Kim posted some great photos from her trip here last Thursday. Check them out if you get a chance.

Take care.
Robin

    1. Hi Kim, I hope you are enjoying your day.
I love all these old photos. I remember the green sweater my Mum is wearing in a couple of the photos. I wish I had that sweater now!
Simon and Sonja were very elegant looking but loved to roll in the dirt and other assorted disgusting things.

  2. P.S. You all were too young to be doing Weight Watchers!

    1. I think my Mum started going first and then the rest of us joined. We all lost weight but it was too thrilling going to meetings and you were the youngest one there!

  5. I love old pictures and all the memories. I can't remember if we celebrated Thanksgiving when I was growing up. At church the front would be decorated with all manner of fruits and veg. but whether we had a special meal at home, who knows? Obviously it was not noteworthy to me at the time. I hope you had a good Thanksgiving.

  6. I loved seeing the old pictures. I'm thinking you are probably my daughter's age...one of my daughters anyway. You have a nice looking family. I can't believe all the oil lamps in that one picture! I have collected several old oil lamps but goodness, no where near the collection your family had.

    1. Thanks Henny. I am 51 years old, 52 in January. Wow, where do the years go?
My Mum and Dad collected oil lamps for the first 10 years or so that they were married. They are now divided up amongst my Mum,sister and I. I do love them.
