There's A Moon Out Tonight.

Wednesday night was one of two nights of the Beaver Moon. The name Beaver Moon originates from the need for hunters to set traps for Beavers before waters freeze over. An alternative interpretation is that the name comes from the Beavers' frenzied activity prior to winter. Either meaning it was a great night Wednesday to take some photos!
This past week we have had our garage gutted prior to insulating and drywalling. The insulation is now done and Chuck wanted to have the wiring for the garage door openers underneath the drywall. This involved some climbing in the rafters.
Now you know why Chuck's nickname at work in "Chuckmunk!" He loves climbing up high. Yes, this man is 55 years old!
Very foggy the other morning. The trees were dripping with condensation. Squeaky and friend popped by for some breakfast.
Wednesday was lovely and sunny so lots of visitors at the feeders.
One of the baby squirrels nabbed a peanut and sat up in one of the maple trees squawking for awhile. He never let go of his peanut!
I wanted to share one more photo with you of Elizabeth on her wedding day 7 years ago. Absolutely beautiful! The celebration of her life is today.

Take care and have a wonderful day.
Robin

  3. I didn't know that the November full moon was called the Beaver Moon. I like finding out trivia of that sort.

I find it hard to imagine that young woman full of life just 7 years ago is now gone. In the past 5 years so many friends/family members have died and I can't fathom it. Gone. I think it's made worse by the fact that they all were in Manitoba, where we came from, and we didn't see them that often so it's like they're still there. But, of course, they're not.

    1. G.M. I am so sorry for your losses. It is difficult living far away from your family when they pass away. You don't see them often but they were always there.
Take care and have a good weekend.

  4. I'd never heard of a Beaver Moon, either.

That photo of Elizabeth is stunning and so heartbreaking. I hope the family managed to get through the celebration of life. I'm sure with many tears, though.

As for Chuck's affinity for heights: Were I in your shoes I'd have to walk away, not look. LOL. But I imagine you're well accustomed to it now! :-)

Will catch up tomorrow, when I can string two words together. :-)

    1. Hi Kim, Elizabeth's celebration of life was wonderful. One of my cousins did the eulogy and did a lovely job.
I am accustomed to Chuck being high up but I don't like it! I am torn to stay and watch or hide and worry about him.
