Feelin' Kinda Sunday.

Today feels like a Sunday of old. Quiet and slow. The snow is coming down quite heavy and the wind is whipping it around so a good day to stay inside. We managed to get our hour walk in before the snow and wind started. It was quite nice.
So many birds at the feeders the last few days.
Tippy has finally figured out how to climb the feeder poles and get at the seed. She (we are pretty sure) stayed for a good 20 minutes eating out of the feeder.
Then went below to eat some sunflower seed.
She finished up with some peanuts. I was making applesauce the whole time and periodically looked out and saw her. She sat up in the maple tree holding her peanut for 10 minutes or so and then wandered off.
This little grey squirrel visited the feeders early this morning.
This black squirrel was snoozing up in the maple tree. He was quite snow covered by the time he woke up.
Snowing heavily by this time. Lots of birds sheltering in the pine tree.
Mourning doves seem to be out in all weather.
Chuck is busy today painting the guest room closet using the vanity stool as a ladder. Luckily he is pretty tidy so no paint ended up on the stool.

My Mum is doing great after her cataract surgery on Thursday. She feels she has never seen this clearly in her whole life! I am so glad. Thank you for all your kind wishes.

Quiet week this week. Our neighbours have gone away so we get to look after Toby and Oreo again. Always fun!

Take care.
Robin

  1. My next home has to have more (benign) critters around me! Ms. Tippy isn't lacking in food choices. :-)

I like the mourning dove photo in particular, it's really good!

You'll have fun cat-sitting for the next week. Lots of spoiling those sweeties.

Take care; so glad your mum is doing well after the cataract surgery!

    1. Ms. Tippy is spoiled rotten. But I can't help it. It is so heartbreaking watching her trying to run across the yard. I like the mourning dove photo too. I just managed the one and they both flew off.
I am so looking forward to cat-sitting!
      Take care Kim!

    1. Thanks Cheryl! She is much happier now that she can see. The snow is pretty bad. It is still coming down now at 6:30 at night.

  4. Love the pictures of the birds. I love to watch birds. And interesting to hear that you had cataract surgery, I go for mine next Monday and I am worried about feeding all these cats but guess I will figure it out. Was it easy to have done?? I have to have two done in two weeks.
Those squirrels do love the bird feeders. I don't have bird feeders any more because of all the cats around here.

  5. It was my Mum that had the cataract surgery. She found it very easy and simple, no problems. She will be having her other eye done in a month.
Thanks for stopping by! Take care.

  6. You are surely having Winter with a capital W ! Nice to hunker down and not have to leave the house if you don't want to.
I'm glad your mom's surgery went well. I've heard there's quite a rigamatole ( is that a word?) to do with drops in the eyes numerous times a day for weeks after though.

    1. We have gone from Fall to harsh Winter in the matter of a week!
There is quite a regime of drops in the eyes after cataract surgery but this is my Mum's second time so she is just so happy to be able to see again. She will be happy when the other one is done too.

  7. It's feeling a little Sunday here too. I feel a little down. But, it snowed here, for about three hours, then stopped and melted completely away. That's how we do it here in North Carolina. :) Glad your mom is doing good.

    1. I HATE painting so even if Chuck made a mess I wouldn't care. Someone else is doing it!

  9. I didn't know your mother was having surgery. I'm glad it went well, and the results are good. It must be like having a new pair of eyes. Excellent.

  10. Nice to get caught up on your blog. We don't have many birds around the feeder these days, just crows but I like watching them too.
    Another frigid cold day here.

    1. When we lived in Nova Scotia we had many crows at the feeders too. They are such interesting birds.
      Cold, cold here too!
