The Books I Read.

I knew I couldn't last! I broke down and visited the library book store on Tuesday. We had to pop into City Hall for a few minutes which also houses our library. Every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings the used book store in the library is open. One of our friends volunteers there so we stopped in to say hello. Not a good idea! I haven't bought any books for months now.  I was very choosy though and spent a grand total of $5.00. I enjoy books about Ontario or Canada which three of them are. I am looking forward to reading them all shortly.

I hadn't seen Toby for a couple of weeks when I spied him outside yesterday watching the birds at our feeders.
Jean Luc showed up yesterday after being gone for a number of days. Butterscotch showed up briefly this morning but we haven't seen Ms. Tippy since last Friday. I am afraid something has happened to her. On Friday she didn't seem too good. Her sight was getting very bad and she was staggering a lot more. Poor thing.
This forsythia bush is a few streets over from us. I couldn't believe my eyes yesterday when I saw it was blooming. It usually is the first in the neighbourhood but this is the earliest I have seen it blooming.
The feeders for the last week or so have been taken over by Grackles and Red Winged Blackbirds. Interesting birds but they bully the other birds.

If you have a chance please visit Kim. She has the most gorgeous sunset photos from last night. We had a wild afternoon of rain and thunderstorms and the skies were clearing out as the sun set. Beautiful!

Take care and have a good weekend!
Robin

  1. $5 is a great bargain!

Wow, the forsythia is in bloom already?! Amazing! We had one summer-like March not too many years ago (4?) where it bloomed here around this time, maybe a week later, but that was the earliest I'd ever seen it bloom.

I'll hope for the best for Ms. Tippy, either that she's okay or that she's at peace and not suffering in any way.

    Purrs from the boys. :-)

P.S. Thanks for the shout-out re: the evening sky pics. Take care!

    1. Hi Kim, I was very surprised to see the forsythia in bloom. Crazy!
I hope that Ms. Tippy didn't suffer. Maybe just went to sleep and didn't wake up. Silly to care so much about a squirrel but I can't help it.
Take care and have a good evening!

    2. Ditto, it's not silly, Robin, I would too. And it shows your wonderful heart. Who knows, maybe Ms. Tippy is off in other territory (grasping at straws) and will return. And if not, well, she couldn't have asked for a kinder human to have watched over her. Peace.

  3. I'm not familiar with any of the books you got but I'm very curious about Pebbles and Pearls. I have the book Sisters in Two Worlds which is the story of Susanna Moodie and Catherine Parr Traill. I've enjoyed this book and it's a keeper.
Now I'll go see Kim's sunset pics!

  6. Poor Ms Tippy. If she has passed away, I hope it was a quiet one in her burrow.
