"Walk Through This World With Me"

Chuck and I have always enjoyed walking. When we first met I had just finished high school and Chuck was waiting to get into welding school after a stint in the Navy. This was back in 1982 during a recession in Ontario. Neither one of us could find a job so for the first few months were were dating we had time on our hands. This would shortly change as we both went back to school. We walked everywhere! It didn't require any money and we both enjoyed exploring the city we were living in then. Walking is something we have continued to enjoy for the last 34 years. Sunday we walked up a large hill right on the edge of town. It was a beautiful day.
The asters are still blooming.
Looking out over Lake Ontario.
Looking towards town.
We then walked over to Proctor House to see where the road goes that runs beside it. It ended up being a dead end but it was heavily forested most of the way. I have no idea what this flower is called. there were quite a few clumps of it.
We could hear the chipmunks and squirrels chattering away.
Lovely tree.
This is in front of the Proctor House Barn Theatre. I love the masks.
Looks like some damage after our last wind storm.
A beautiful day ended with a beautiful sunset.

  1. What wonderful photos! Having easy access to views like that, and the conservation area, is fantastic. I'm looking forward to seeing more pics from your walk and future walks. BTW, I either didn't know or didn't remember that Chuck had done a stint in the Navy and then gone to welding school. I just figured he went straight into the military, trained as an electrician!

    1. Hi Kim, from age 18 to 21 or so Chuck was in the Navy but he didn't like it. He left and went to welding school and was a certified welder but in the early 1980's there wasn't many welding jobs in our hometown. So he joined the Air Force and the rest is history!
I have so many more photos, probably enough for a few more posts!
      Have a good evening!

    1. I do love all the vintage clothing too. It is so pretty! It amazes me that it is still around. Someone took really good care of it.
A perfect day to me is when I can spend a lot of it outside. We have been having very good weather these last few weeks so I am spending lots of time outside.
      Take care Henny!

I've always liked to walk too. My dad and I used to walk a lot together when I was a kid.

    1. Today is quite a bit cooler but still not too bad. I would not be a happy person if I couldn't get outside and enjoy nature everyday!

    1. Hi Cheryl, we have always loved walking together. In our last town we lived in everyone called us "The walking couple". The town we are living in now is very walk friendly. If my husband wasn't still working we could get away without a car.

    1. Glad you enjoyed the photos! We heard how devastating the damage was from the hurricane. So scary!
So you are walkers too, that's great. You do see so much more on foot than in the car.

  8. I enjoy your photos. Nice area! I think in winter there is snow? Here we have the same aster. My mom loves asters (on the table in a flowerpot)

    1. It is a very nice area to live in. We do have quite a bit of snow in the winter which usually lasts from mid December until mid March. Asters are very pretty flowers!

    1. Lake Ontario is gorgeous! All but four years of my life I have lived very close to it. For the other four years we lived right by the Atlantic Ocean.
      Have a good week!
