"How High The Moon"

So many wonderful photos online of the full moon this past week. This was the best I could do with my poor old camera.
Monday was a beautiful day so after walking over to the grocery store I decided to walk around town a bit. This is one of the trains at the train museum here in town. It is only open in the Summer so we will have to wait to see everything inside the museum.
So many flowers blooming all over. I do love purple flowers!
I find the bark on trees so interesting.
There are quite a few large old ones around one of the churches.
One had been cut down and someone hung up a slice of the tree. So pretty!
 Crocuses everywhere!
Love this home with the matching mailbox.
I was in my neighbours yard bent right over to get this photo when Sweet Pea jumped up on my back. I nearly did a face plant into the crocuses! If anyone was watching I must have gave them a good laugh.
Just as I was starting my walk I met this fellow. Very playful and didn't want me to go.
The Cooey Metal Products Plant again!
This is my new favourite antique store. It is only about 4 blocks away from our house and their prices are fantastic.
Have you ever seen inside of a milkweed pod? I brought one home last Fall and it has been outside on the back deck this whole time. The cats have played with it and it has been covered in snow. I walked around the deck a few days ago and found it had burst open. How beautiful!

Looking forward to this long weekend. The weather looks great for tomorrow and then not so great for the rest. I am happy I don't have to get up at 5:30 for a few days! 😺

Have a wonderful weekend!
Robin

    1. Hi Vicki, thanks so much! The kitty did want his belly rubbed. Of course I did, but he thought I should do it for a lot longer.
      Take care!

  2. I love your photos and your walks. So good I don't live near Magnolia Cottage Antiques. No more room! I got a great photo of the "pink moon," except it wasn't pink (and I read an article titled I think "Why the Pink Moon is Not Really Pink." I might have to "pink it up" in PhotoShop and post it!

    1. Hi Mitchell, it is deadly for me to go into Magnolia Cottage. Her prices are so great and she has such interesting stuff. I resisted and didn't go in today but she puts such tempting posts on Facebook I MIGHT have to go in on Saturday.
Looking forward to seeing your moon shots.
      Have a good weekend!

    2. MITCHELL~~~ Nope, the April Pink Full Moon isn't pink. It is named that because it is: "...named after pink flowers called wild ground phlox, which bloom in early spring and become widespread throughout the U.S. and Canada this time of year."

The source of that, is in my Full Pink Moon post. :-)

    1. Hi Linda, thanks so much! I seem to meet a different cat each time when I go for a walk on my own. When Chuck and I walk together we power-walk so I don't necessarily notice kitties.
I really enjoy your posts too.
Hope you have a good weekend in Montreal.

  5. "...with my poor old camera...." Good heavens Woman! You take amazing, lovely, beautiful, etc., etc., etc. photos, with that "old camera"!!!!!!

That moon shot... You should print it and frame it!!!!!!!

And all the rest are wonderful.

Give that "poor old camera" a kissss!!!!!!! For me!!! ,-)

I could make some lovely comment, about each of your photos.

My woodworking husband really appreciated the slice of an old tree, which someone had hung. Those are coveted by wood workers!!!!!!!

Magnolia Cottage.... Antiques Shop. Jo and Chip ("Fixer Upper's") use "Magnolia" for many of their projects. :-) Here is the link to their blog...

    1. Hi Luna, that's very kind of you to say. I switch back and forth between my 10 year old camera a a little point and shoot which is probably 5 years old.
I love old wood too just like your husband. I think of all the lovely things one could do with it.
I have heard of Jo and Chip. I will check out their blog.
      Have a nice weekend!

  6. The moon picture is really cool and the clouds add that sense of mystery.
    It is getting warmer here,finally.
I have shoots of daylilies coming up, but do not have much in the way of flowers.
The area where you live looks quite nice.
I also like that tuxedo kitty :)
    Cheers, Nancy and the kitties

    1. Hi Nancy, I stood outside for quite awhile taking moon shots the other night. Luckily it wasn't cold!
I remember Spring in Nova Scotia took a little while longer to get there than I was accustomed to in Ontario. Tulips more so came up in late May then early May.
The tuxedo kitty was very sweet but as I was trying to walk away he started to climb up my leg. Ouch!
      Have a good weekend!

  7. Have I ever looked inside a milkweed pod? Only about a million times...I have loved them all my life...still love to wave them in the air and watch the seeds float away. I would love to go in that antique shop...I just love to go in them and look. But with this there would be more fun just to see the inside of that house.

    1. Hi Rose, aren't the milkweed pods beautiful?
The antique shop is fabulous. It is on the ground floor of the home and they live above. The front entrance is beautiful and the staircase is fabulous. I am going to take some photos inside one day soon!
Take care and hope you and Roger are well.

  8. Oh Robin! I have never taken a picture of the full moon as beautiful as yours. That milkweed pod is really pretty. Poppy came home from turkey hunting with some kind of a pod he has picked up. I wonder if it could be milkweed.

    1. Hi Henny, just pure luck my photos. I will admit I do love taking them and will stand in the cold, rain whatever to get them!
Have you opened up the pod yet? I picked up last weekend a small hard one from some plant. I haven't opened it yet.
      Enjoy the weekend!

  9. I was very disappointed that I couldn't get even a glimpse of the full moon due to clouds that moved in just before moon rise.
The thought of Sweet Pea jumping on your back and almost causing you to tumble isn't funny but I'll bet it looked funny.
I'm not sure I've even seen a milkweed pod. Do we even have them around here? Must find out.
How did you Paska turn out? I made a batch in the form of buns which are okay but not what DH was expecting. Maybe I'll try again.

    1. Hi Granny Marigold, I read that you were not able to get a photo of the full moon. Sorry about that. It was just luck I looked out before going to bed and saw the skies had cleared a bit.
Sweet Pea is such a kook I wasn't surprised it was him jumping on me!
I don't know if you have milkweed out there. Now you have me curious too.
I am making the Paska today. With our lovely weather I haven't been spending too much time indoors. I made a batch one year in buns too. It seemed like me were eating them for weeks!
      Take care.

  12. I so enjoyed walking around town with you. The train museum should be a great visit this summer. But,I don't think I could resist Magnolia Cottage any time of the year. We share a lot of common likes...full moons and mysterious clouds, early spring crocuses, gnarly old trees, and... But, I have never seen inside a milkweed pod. :~/ Great photos, Robin!

  14. I love the clouds in that moon shot and I love that milk weed pod. I *have* seen inside them, since macro pics of flowers and pods, etc. is my thing. That's an especially good shot, Robin!

All the spring flowers are so lovely and cheery to see, even if it seems they're a month late this year. And how cool to have a nearby go-to antique store, that's great!

Have a lovely weekend. Wish I could sleep in too, but sadly not. However, I *can* go back to bed if I wish, so that's good! Take care.

    1. Hi Kim, your macro pics are fabulous! My little point and shoot seems to take the best ones.
It seems like Spring just burst out these last few days. I saw fully blooming daffodils in someones garden but I didn't think they would appreciate me lying on their front lawn to take a photo!
I don't usually sleep in, it is just the fact that I don't have to get UP at 5:30. We can stay in bed until 6:30 or so listening to the radio then I start worrying the kitty crew is waiting for their breakfast.
      Have a good weekend Kim!

We seem to have many train enthusiasts in town here. One man bought the old train station when the train no longer stopped here and turned it into the museum. I am looking forward to visiting it this Summer.
