"Don't Forget Your Teeth!"

Taken with old camera!
It looks like poor old Smokey did! I knew he didn't have many teeth but I didn't think he had so few. If I remember correctly he has one fang in the top front
Got a new camera recently so I have been trying to learn how to use it. It is rather more complicated then my 10 year old Sony!
This past weekend was Applefest if you remember from my last post. It was so unbelievably hot and humid. Janice and I lasted two hours wandering around. Had a great time and chatted with lots of people. We stopped in at "Magnolia Cottage" for a few minutes and I came away with this old headboard.
The heat is getting to everyone I think! Miss Kitty was protesting the other day.
Sunday Janice and I visited the Codrington Farmers Market. We each picked up a few things and on the way home stopped at a garage sale. It was held in an old feed mill. I will share those photos next time. Janice was looking outside and called me over. She said "Here is a pot that is a Robin pot" I laughed and said "Yes, it is!" For $2.00 I was able to bring it home.
Just fiddling with the camera.
Ralph in all his handsomeness.
Miss Kitty frightened the squirrel up the fence.
"What did I do?"
Snowball is visiting quite a bit on a daily basis. We are a little worried she has been abandoned.
A new visitor. Love his/her stripes!
The dahlias are so beautiful this year. With this heat they are growing like crazy.

As I type this a cold front has moved in and the temperature has gone down 10 degrees. First thing I did was turn off the air conditioning and fling open the windows. Lovely!

Hope everyone has a great rest of the week!
Robin

  1. You'll have such fun with the new camera, Robin -- great image quality! Your old Sony always has done well too, I've thought.

Poor Smokey. I hope he's not in terrible dental pain from an infection or some such. At least he can eat the soft food you give him.

As for Snowball, well, I know you'll help her if she has been abandoned. Poor love, she's such a beautiful girl, I can't understand people, just can't.

I love that plant pot, yes, it's definitely you! Looks fantastic with the mums. And only $2! You have a lucky horseshoe up your butt when it comes to bargain, that's for sure. LOL.

I'm hoping our temps fall 10 degrees (and more) too! I'll leave the patio door open a bit tonight and wake up to a freezing house, no doubt. Ha.

    Take care!

    1. Hi Kim, I am terrible for answering comments lately! With the cooler weather I as you know am spending more time outside. In the Winter I definitely become a hermit!
Thanks again for the wonderful visit! We had a great time, didn't we?

  4. Poor Smokey. I wonder how old he is. No wonder he is a messy eater. I love all the sweet kitties you feed. It has been hot and humid here too. In fact, August was cooler than September has been and that is unusual.

    1. Hi Henny, so hard to tell Smokey's age. His lack of teeth and his general stiffness makes me think he isn't young.
We seem to finally have our seasons straight here and are receiving Fall like weather.
      Hope you cool down soon!

  5. I am so happy about your new camera! Love seeing all your photos! Beautiful! It has also been hot and humid here in Montreal but thankfully we got some rain today, much needed, as we had none for a few weeks. It is a little cooler now and due to stay cool and more comfortable, which I am thrilled about. :)

  6. Looks like you're learning the camera well. That dahlia is stunning. "Don't forget your teeth!" has become a common phrase around here. That's what we call my Invisalign (removable) braces.

  10. You've done a smashing job with your new camera, Robin! Mind you, with such lovely subjects to photograph, you were on to a winner already!
That pot was a real bargain.
Poor Smoky and his lack of teeth! The other cats are all gorgeous as well. I call striped felines "marrow cats" as they remind me of the veg! xxx

    1. Hi Vix, thanks for your kind words! I have been neglecting blogland lately between the new camera and great weather.
I can't imagine how Smokey has survived all this time with so little teeth. He is always very grateful for his food and eats everything put in front of him.
      Take care!

    1. Hi Granny Marigold, we finally did have a break in the heat except for Tuesday and Wednesday of this week but it wasn't as humid.
The garage sale had so many bargains. The lady had to leave the house as it had been sold and she was just renting. She was selling everything very cheaply.
      Take care!

  13. Hi there Robin, I enjoyed the pictures and are all the kitties yours?--love seeing them, they are so pretty. I hope you find out if the one is abandoned or not and can help her. Getting a new camera is SO FUN!!--and it usually takes me quite a while to figure out all the settings and buttons, etc. You seem to be doing really well with your so far! Love the dahlia--I have never grown those, and would love to give it a try next summer.

    1. The kitties are not ours. Some are owned and some are strays but we feed them all. We are trying to find out if Snowball is owned by anyone. She can be very persistent when she wants food!
I will eventually get everything on the camera figured out. A very good book was included.
      Have a wonderful day!

  14. Wow, do you ever have a wealth and variety of cat visitors! No doubt they appreciate your hospitality. I find Snowball especially beautiful. If your new camera is even better than your old one, then we, your blog fans, are in store for even tastier eye candy. Looking forward to more.
