"Quiet Time"

Sunrise yesterday morning.
A slow week this past week. Chuck went back to work Monday after our short vacation. We enjoyed Niagara on the Lake so much we have rented a cottage for a week in May. Can't wait to go back!
Not the best photo. I took this after supper one evening. Miss Kitty and Smokey had both just eaten their supper too.
I hadn't downloaded photos from my old camera in a few weeks.
Such gorgeous sunsets and sunrises the past week.
Poor old Punkin. He looks little worse for wear but much improved from a few months ago. He is back to coming every day and enjoys a cuddle along with a meal.
Miss Kitty does not look amused.
Still figuring out the new camera. We have two light standards around the house so it doesn't make for the best night time photography.
A little more bird activity around the feeders the last two days.
Ralph kept me company one day as I was gardening. He is very silly!
Sunset a few nights ago.
Cortes popped by for a very quick visit. I haven't seen him in a few months. It took me a second to recognize him.
Our wonderful neighbour Merv left me these hydrangeas on the weekend. We came home to find them tucked in behind a pumpkin.

We visited Mum on Sunday. So wonderful to see her. This Thursday would have been my parent's 60th wedding anniversary. We brought Mum a bouquet of flowers. My brother and sister NEVER remember their anniversary even when my Dad was alive. That does really bother me so I try to make up for it. Mum is getting a little more forgetful but loves to chat about current events and the latest  family news.

The Fall colours here this year are very subdued. With our wacky weather the past six months it doesn't surprise me.

I hope you have a wonderful week!
Take care.
Robin

  1. Really enjoyed all the kitty pics, so sweet and funny... sounds like you may have found a new favorite vacations spot. when we were still taking vacations, we went to the same motel on the same beach twice a year for years. a word for your brother/sister forgetting anniversaries. they can't help it. I never remember birthdays or anniversarys and don't send cards . when mother was alive I remembered her birthday and daddy, but it is just not in my genes to remember dates. I can't even tell you the date my mother died. I know the month and year but that is it. I just can't remember dates

    1. Hi Sandra, so glad you enjoyed the kitty photos! Growing up my family vacationed at the same place for 20 years. We just loved it!
I do know that some people have a hard time remembering dates. But my sister and brother then get mad when people don't acknowledge their anniversaries. My Dad was a great one for remembering dates so I guess I am the same.
      Have a good week!

  2. Hello, I love your kitty photos. The sky images are all beautiful. Your neighbor is so nice to leave your the hydrangea, they pretty next to the pumpkin. I am sure your Mom appreciated your visit, I have to admit I have a bad memory for dates. Happy Tuesday, enjoy your day!

    1. Hi Eileen, so glad you enjoyed the photos. We are very blessed with such wonderful neighbours. I don't know if Merv meant me to leave the hydrangeas there but I thought they looked pretty there too!
Hope you are having a wonderful day!

  3. Those sky photos are magnificent, Robin. Words fail. I really like the nighttime one too, with the moon behind the clouds (below Miss Kitty looking p*ssed off).

I'm sorry your siblings don't remember your parents' wedding anniversary, but it was lovely of you to take flowers to your mum. I used to send a card to Mom and Harry, now I just give Mom a call. Can't quite wish her a "happy" anniversary anymore, but I do acknowledge the day.

Have a good day...It's finally starting to look a bit brighter out there now.

    1. Hi Kim, it has been an incredible year for sunrises and sunsets. I check every evening to see what the sunset looks like. The photo below Miss Kitty is from last night as there clouds were rolling in.
I do wish my siblings remembered the anniversary. I know it can't be "happy" for Mum now but I like to think she will be remembering past anniversaries. My Dad always made a big deal of the day. Usually he would still have some roses blooming in the garden and he would bring whatever was left and make a beautiful bouquet for Mum.
It cleared up very quickly here. I have a load of wash out drying very quickly.
      See you soon!

    1. Hi Valerie, oh, lucky you to be visiting NOTL!
Growing up in St.Catharines we did spend time in NOTL, especially in the summer. We hadn't been in a few years and had quite forgotten how beautiful it is.
      Have a wonderful time!

    1. Hi Mildred, for the most part the kitties are very sweet. Miss Kitty gets rather possessive with us and doesn't like other cats around too much.
I do wish my brother and sister would remember the anniversary as it means so much to Mum.
      Take care!

  9. You take the greatest photos! And you have the best sunrises and sunsets as well as clouds to photograph. Just once I'd like to see a sunrise like that first awesome pic!

    1. Hi Granny Marigold, Thanks for your kind words! We are very blessed to live where we do and have no tall buildings blocking the sunrises and sunsets.
My family does not read my blog as I haven't told them I have one.
      Have a wonderful weekend!

    1. Hi Nancy, thanks for popping by! Glad you enjoyed the photos. That sunrise was the most spectacular one I have seen in my life.
I am counting the months (days!) until we head back to NOTL for our week in the cottage.
Miss Kitty is the queen of disgusted faces. She is a very sweet cat but you wouldn't know it by her scowling face.
      Have a great day!
