Cats

Sam

This is a rather hard post to write. My google name is Cat Lover and I received an email asking me about my cats. We lost both of our cats in the last 7 months to illness. The cat in the top photo, Sam died back in September. She was the sweetest little girl. We always adopt our cats from shelters.
The cat in the photo below is Rudy. He died at the end of March. He was a big goof. So right now we do not have any cats,or any pets for that matter. It is very strange to walk into a quiet house and not have someone run to meet you. It has been very difficult this last 7 months but we seem to have come out the other side. Someday we hope to get another cat(or two) but not right now. Everyone hug your pets for me and post pictures so I can enjoy them!

  1. Hi There, So nice that you visited my blog. I hope you come back often. I am enjoying yours... I grew up with a cat (Snowball) ---and she died after I went to college.. It did seem strange going home when she wasn't there.

Hubby and I don't have any pets now since we travel so much but I love both dogs and cats. My last dog was a Cocker Spaniel --and she lived about 15 years. I thought I would died when she died... Missed her so much!

Here---I do feed my backyard birds, so do really enjoy them. When they put in our new deck a couple of years ago, they built me an arbor on the end of the deck --where I have my 'Bird Kitchen'.... So much fun to watch all of the little birds --plus the woodpeckers.

    Hugs,
    Betsy

    1. Thanks for stopping by. I also love feeding the backyard birds. The first thing my husband sets up when we move to a new house(we were in the military for 31 years) is our bird feeders. I enjoy your blog too! Take care.

  2. Our youngest cat is 16 years old, so I suspect we too will have a quiet house soon. As much I complain about taking care of our elderly cats (I'm always having to clean up after them), I'll miss them when they are gone.

    1. It was heartbreaking when each of our cats passed. Our first cat, Linus, we got just after we were married lasted just shy of 20 years. Sam and Rudy were older when we adopted them but it was still devastating when they died. These little beings just get into our hearts!

  3. yep I know how you feel. We lost Molly our dog over two years ago and I am still not ready to get another dog. It takes time to heal.

    1. I can't even imagine having another cat right now. We have neighbours on both sides of us that have cats. I visit them from time to time.

  4. So hard when a pet dies. I still miss my Sam. She was a yellow lab and died years ago. One of these days I'd love to get another lab.

  5. I do remember that I suggested you start a blog! (Well, only if you really wanted to, and don't let it take over your life as I did for several years.)

I'm so sorry you've lost both your beloved cats. I've lived with cats now for 14 consecutive years, and while I often fantasize about all the free time and saved money when both boys are gone, I'm not sure if the reality would live up to my imagination. There are pluses and minuses to having non-human companions versus not. I doubt I would want any more in my current space, because I so don't want to stay in that complex. But who knows. I certainly wouldn't adopt without good pet insurance, one that covered dental costs.

Anyway, lots of purrs from the boys and hugs from me. IF you ever decide to adopt again, the right cat will come along.

Now I must take a look at your other posts, and I'll add you to Feedly, under my "Fuzzy Tales" account (the account I normally use to leave comments, rather than this one.)

    Best,
    Kim

    1. Kim, thanks for stopping by.It is shocking the hole in your life after cats pass on. My husband and I have had cats for 30 of our 32 years of marriage and I grew up with 2 Siamese cats. We would also make sure to have very good pet insurance too. Thank you for your kind wishes. It means a lot. I love all your pictures of your boys.

  6. So sorry that you've lost both your cats recently. It is hard. We've lost many over the years... usually to old age... and one very dear to us from an illness. And although we have 5 inside cats at the moment (which demands a lot of upkeep), I can't imagine not having them around. They make us smile...

    1. It is very strange not having any animals to take care of. Luckily we have very nice neighbours who let us cuddle their cats anytime. Thanks for stopping by.
