Hazy Shade of Winter.

We had our first real blast of snow yesterday. Flurries were predicted but we got a bit more than that!
I snapped this photo of a nuthatch just as the snow was starting.
Poor goldfinch! For such tiny birds they always seem to be out in snowstorms.
My flower pots definitely are done. I will dump them all out today or tomorrow.
This morning dawned bright and sunny with many birds at the feeders.
The handyman Dan showed up at 7:45 and got right to work tearing out the drywall in the garage.
With the cooler weather I always want to do lots of baking. I found a new recipe for a Banana Date loaf that I wanted to try. It smells heavenly! We have to wait until it cools a bit to try it.
Take care and have a great day.

  1. Mmmm, I ought to be your taste-tester. :-)

So glad the handyman showed up and work is progressing! Yay!

BTW, we didn't get that snow! We had a few short-lived flurries in the air at one point, but that was all. I'd better not come back to any white stuff on the ground. :-p

Oh, I love the sunlight on the grass in your morning photo. The pic has a lovely glow to it!

Take care, have a great day.

  4. So sorry to hear about Elizabeth. So young. My prayers are with you and your family.
We just had the flurries which didn't amount to anything. It was turned cold though, but sunny.
