"Hungry Eyes"
A couple days ago I peeked out the sliding door and saw Miss Kitty was sleeping on our neighbours clothesline deck.
I walked out onto our deck and opened up a bag of treats. She heard it! You know what she did!
I've noticed the magnolias are set to bloom again. I mentioned it to Kim and she has noticed it too.
Our trailing lilac we planted this year is blooming too.
Nothing exciting this past week. We did spend the weekend with Mum as my brother and SIL (who Mum lives with ) went away. It was lovely to visit and stuff her full of homemade food. My brother and SIL do not like cooking so Mum was very appreciative of everything.
Skies continue to be magnificent.
We popped out on a little road trip yesterday after work. We had rain on and off in the afternoon.
Made for some interesting clouds.
I don't know what this is. It stayed on the window for quite some time. Yech!
Poor squirrel! Looks like a boil on the side of it's neck. He ate heartily and was chasing other squirrels.
I received a package in the mail a couple days ago from Garlands of Grace . How pretty! This little package was in a brown envelope that was beautiful too.
My new socks! Handmade in Chicago. I love them!
Poor Smokey! Sorry if this is gross to you! About a week ago he came for his breakfast sneezing. I looked up online and found out it is a cold and would run it's course in a week to ten days if there are no complications. He sneezed and wheezed for a few days and then disappeared. I feared the worst and was worrying to Kim about him. She was the voice of reason (Thanks Kim!) and stated he probably is holed up some where recuperating. I looked out yesterday mid afternoon and who was peering in the deck door at me. He ate a huge can of food then and came back this morning and ate two more. He sounds so much better!
I've noticed a few painted bicycles around town. This one really catches your eye!
I hope you all have had a good week and wish you a wonderful weekend!

Hello, the Miss Kitty photos are adorable. So glad you had a nice visit with your Mom, the homemade food sounds great too. Beautiful sky captures. I am glad your Smokey is feeling better. The bike color is an eye catcher. I like your new sock, wonderful gift. Happy Thursday, enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteHi Eileen, glad you enjoyed the post.
DeleteHave a wonderful week!
I would have been CRAZY WITH WORRY over Smokey, but you are lucky that Kim held you back. With the outside cats, sometimes patience with wounds or colds does more good than trying to 'whisk' them away to a vet. And my cupboard is filled with holistic, DIY treatments too! Am fortunate that I can touch Patty and Sweetie, to rub gunk on a sore, or use topical die-flea-die stuff. Your trailing lilac is pretty!
ReplyDeleteHi Vicki, I was rather worried but Kim was the sane one and calmed me down. I don't know that I will ever be able to touch Smokey. He does rub his nose along my hand when I put his food bowl down. That has taken me six months to accomplish!
DeleteTake care!
I love the pictures of Miss Kitty peeking round the corner, very sweet. There's nothing quite like home baked food is there xx
ReplyDeleteHi Cheryl, Miss Kitty is a beauty thats for sure. She is quite happy to pose for photos too.
DeleteBe well!
Thanks for the images of Miss Kitty. They made me smile. No thanks for snotty Smokey! Our old cat Dudo used to get colds and do that. It was disgusting!
ReplyDeleteHi Mitchell, this is the first experience I have had with a cat cold despite having 5 cats over my lifetime. I didn't realize a cat with that little nose could produce so much snot! Thankfully he is back to full health.
DeleteHave a good day!

Thanks Laura! Miss Kitty and Smokey are in agreement with you Trouters! They don't like the squirrels. Smokey is feeling much better. He appreciates your concern.
DeleteTake care all!
Poor squirrel....
ReplyDeleteGlad the cat is recuperating though...
Cute socks!!!
the sky makes such lovely photo oppppps!!!!
Hi Luna, I felt awful for the poor squirrel. Not much I can do to help him!
DeleteThe sky has been spectacular this Summer for photos.
Have a good week!
That second pic of Miss Kitty is worth printing and framing, IMO. Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteLove that first sky shot, of the sunrise (presume sunrise) -- my favourite. The skies have been amazing this summer, I'll grant you that. A bonus to all the stormy weather, I suppose.
Poor squirrel indeed. Ugh. Not sure how that will heal, but I hope it does, for his/her sake.
I'm glad Smokey was back to eat two cans this morning, that's great. Poor boy. He's probably still alive and going because of you, Robin.
The socks are adorable. Nice packaging too! :-)
Have a great afternoon. Just the usual work busyness here!
Hi Kim, I do love the second photo of Miss Kitty too. It was the only one I got with both her eyes peeking out as she jumped right up when she saw the treats.
DeleteI took the sunrise photo over by the goose pond. This time next year there will be houses there.
Smokey continues to feel better and better. He must have ate three large cans yesterday as he came a few times through the day looking for food.
Talk soon!
the socks are adorable! :) and i'm glad Smokey is feeling better
ReplyDeleteI couldn't resist the socks. And the bonus was there being made in the States. Made not to far from us!
DeleteHave a good week!
Your socks are amazing. Our cat had the herpes resp virus and it would flare and it was hard on her. Hope thats not your buddys case
ReplyDeleteHi Kathy, the socks are great and very comfy. I have no idea if Smokey has Herpes Resp Virus. He has only been coming around since March. I will keep an eye on him and if needed I probably could put something in his food. He is a wonderful eater!
DeleteTake care!
Your socks are very nice, and I love all your photos! The black squirrel is gorgeous, I hope he heals quickly.
ReplyDeleteHi Linda, so glad you enjoyed the post. Also so glad everything is coming together for you.
Deletetake care!
Great looking socks.
ReplyDeleteMiss Kitty's pictures made me smile and glad that Smokey recovered from her cold.
The red bike sure pops out!! I like it.
Hi Karen, the socks are pretty funky aren't they? ; )
DeleteMiss Kitty is very photogenic. I know sometimes people are a little leary of her because of her blue stare but I grew up with Siamese so I know what they are like.
Have a great day!
Cute picture of Miss Kitty peering around the corner. Great cloud pics too!
ReplyDeleteThe socks are perfect for a cat lover like you! Now you need some squirrel ones as well.
Hi Granny Marigold, I am pleased how well the Miss Kitty photos turned out. Hard to take a bad photo of her!
DeleteI will be on the lookout for squirrel socks now that you have put the idea in my head.
Have a wonderful week!
Oh, it's sad when cats get sick. I need to take Timothy in for his yearly shots next month. Come to think of it, I need to put some drops in his cute ears, too. I feel bad for cats that have to survive on their own. Sad face.
ReplyDeleteThe painted bikes are so fun! Have a good weekend!
Hi Pom, Pom, I felt horrible for Smokey He wasn't eating much and he looked so dejected. Luckily it was warm those days he was sick and he would just rest on the deck and snooze. I don't know that I will ever be able to pet him but I would miss him if he was gone. He loves to sit at our deck door and just peer in at us as we go about our day. If you talk to him he blinks his eyes at you so I guess he likes us. I know the neighbours (well not Janice and Keith) think I am nuts to care about these strays but someone has to.
DeleteHave a good day!
Miss Kitty is so cute. Poor Smokey. I did not know that cats could catch a cold. You are so sweet to feed the cats. Poppy complains because our three cats eat a total of three cans a day. I tell that is not that much. You always have pretty pictures. Hope the squirrel gets well too.
ReplyDeleteHi Henny, thi is my first experience with a cat cold. Reading online it said the cold is passed through "wet sneezes" I will tell you they are very wet! I had to spray off my deck a few times as I don't want anyone else catching his cold. But fingers crossed all the other kitties seem fine.
DeleteI think all told we spend about $25.00 a week for kitty food so not much. I buy two different kinds of wet, dry food and three bags of treats. The new guy Ralph is a little piggy! His owners must not feed him treats. He loves them here!
Have a good week!
I love the photos of Miss Kitty, and amazing sky shots. I am glad Smokey seems better....love that bicycle. Just the fact that it is orange appeals to me. Always love your posts...
ReplyDeleteHi Rose, so glad you enjoyed the photos! I appreciate your kind words about my posts. I love yours too. You have such wonderful photos. Smokey continues to improve. He is much more interested in his food then he was a week ago.
DeleteHope you and Roger are well!
I'm glad Smokey is doing better. I have a rabbit that I am nursing through a respiratory ailment right now. Your story gives me hope!
ReplyDeleteHi Marcie, Smokey is so much better now, back to eating two cans of food every morning. I hope your rabbit feels better soon!
DeleteTake care.
I'm so glad Smokey is feeling better, they're such a worry when they'll ill, aren't they?
ReplyDeleteMiss Kitty is a beauty and I love those socks! xxx
Hi Vix, it is worrying when our pets are ill. I can't touch Smokey and I don't know that I ever will be able to. I just had to hope he wouldn't get any complications and would recover.
DeleteMiss Kitty is a beauty and she seems to love posing for the camera.
Have a good Wednesday!
I love that shot!
ReplyDeleteMiss Kitty is very photogenic isn't she??
DeleteTake care!
Awww...that kitty is adorable. - Was sorry to hear that one of your furry feline friends was not feeling well. Having had sick kitties here recently I can so relate. I've never seen a black squirrel before, a bit sad he had a "boo-boo" on his neck. Loved the bright colored bicycle. - Great post.
