Change of plans

Don't these strawberries look delicious? We woke up this morning with a number of things we wanted to get done. After our 6:30 walk we came home , had breakfast and were starting to plan out our day when Chuck said his back tooth was bothering him.  The dentist office does not open until 9:00 so we went and picked these two quarts of strawberries at the Pick your own. Ten minutes and $3.85 later we were on our way home. So now Chuck is sitting at the dentist as I type this.
I planted this pot of Lobelia a few weeks ago and it has grown so much already.
It has been hot and muggy the last few days so the birds are using the bird baths frequently. I often change the water a couple of times a day.

My friend Janice just popped over and wanted my opinion on a countertop and backsplash she has picked out. Since we have had all of our renovations done a couple of my friends are renovating their kitchens too. I'm sure their husbands are not to happy with us!

I had planned on doing some baking today so I better get to it. Have a good day everyone!

  2. Mmm, freshly-picked strawberries, what a treat!

I laughed at your comment that your friends' husbands wouldn't be happy. They'll be happy when it's all done and off the "honey do" list, that's for sure. :-)

I hope it went at the dentist's office for Chuck. I'm cringing. Is there much worse than going to the dentist?

Chuck has a fractured tooth in the back. He had an accident back in the mid eighties. He broke his jaw and smashed a number of his teeth. The one that is bothering him is one they had repaired. He complained for the last two years to his old dentist about it but they kept saying nothing is wrong. Now it is too late and it has to be removed the new dentist says. He is resigned to it and is just glad the pain will stop. Fun stuff going to the dentist!

  5. I guess we all love strawberries. : )
Hope Chuck doesn't have any more trouble with his tooth.
It is very entertaining watching birds in a birdbath. I find that robins seem to enjoy a bath most.

    1. We are eating strawberries twice a day! I love them plain and with yogurt. I think the birds must be getting accustomed to me outside everyday taking photos of them. They are getting very tame.
