Saturday finds from the Knight's of Columbus Yard Sale

Beautiful, sunny day today. Perfect for any outside activity. I noticed that the Knight's of Columbus were having their annual yard sale. Usually we find a number of great things there and this year was no exception.

I read books in a variety of subjects. Fiction, non-fiction, cookbooks, whatever. All the books were a quarter so I had a quick look as we only had about 10 minutes to look around. This should keep me going for a few weeks!
The prize of the day for me was a box of the old canning jars I love. I have not seen this quantity in a long time. The whole box was $2.00.
I could not walk away from these embroidered pictures. I know the colours are a bit bright but I love the irises and tulips. They may hang in the powder room.
We got a few more items that I will show you tomorrow. Chuck lucked out and got some vintage tools and electronics. We walked out with three boxes full and spent $20.00.

We have running water in the kitchen as of last night. The first thing I did was run the dishwasher. I WILL NOT miss washing dishes in the laundry sink. Nor will my back!

I hope everyone is having a good weekend and finding time to relax. (I should talk!) Take care.

  1. Oh, the embroidered flowers are lovely! Not too bright at all, IMO.

I'm thinking I ought to keep my eye out for yard sales. LOL. Actually, I'm trying to get rid of stuff, not accumulate more, but I could be tempted for the right find. :-)

Hurrah for running water! I've never had a dishwasher, so don't know that simple joy, but being without water in the kitchen would be a big pain the butt. Glad you have it back!

    1. We try to only buy things we really need(yeah, right!) but other things creep in. We only attend the larger organization yard sales not go house to house.
I am so happy to have water in the kitchen. I have eczema on my hands so hand washing dishes is no fun for me.

  2. You got some terrific finds at the yard sale.
Thank goodness for running water in the kitchen again. I've been there before. Something not to be taken for granted. : )
I don't have a dishwasher. Had it taken out when we moved here. I'm a crazy person who actually likes to wash dishes. : )

    1. I remember when you got your new countertop so I imagine you can sympathize with me about no running water. You must of gained a cabinet when you took out your dishwasher.

  3. I agree great finds at the yard sale. I am the opposite of you and rarely use my dishwasher. Wash all our dishes by hand generally.
