We have countertops!

It seems like forever ago since we had counters but it is only 25 days. The two young fellows were here at 8:30 this morning and worked until 10:00. They did an absolutely perfect job and did everything I asked happily. We have been truly blessed to have such a stress free renovation.
I love the contrast between the cabinets and the counter. I think the black hardware stands out more now too.
We went to the tile store and selected the backsplash right after they were done with the counter. We haven't any idea when it can be installed as they are rather busy now, but we don't want anyone else installing it so we will wait. The smell is terrible from the counter top sealer so all the windows are open and Chuck and I are bundled up in sweaters as it is not too warm here today.

Gorgeous sunny day today even if it is a bit cool. I might have an update on the abandoned stone house shortly as a friend knows the people who own it. My friend wrecked her back so I haven't talked to her in a few days. I will let you know.

Enjoy your day!                                                      Robin

  2. Oh, oh, gorgeous, gorgeous kitchen, I love it, perfect. Well done to all involved and to you (and Chuck?) for choosing everything. :-)

Hmm, re: Gill's comment, what's wrong with living east of TO? LOL.

    1. Kim, we do love it too. We had a lot of help from two terrific ladies (Carol at Kitchen Creations and Sue at A&E Tile) and Chuck can imagine how things will eventually look. I always have had a vision of how I wanted our kitchen to look and this is pretty well it.
I don't know why Gill doesn't want to live east of Toronto!

    1. Thanks Karen. I went down to the farmer's market this morning and got some rhubarb. I want to try a couple of the rhubarb recipes you posted a few days ago.
