Nova Scotia

I was going thru my desk drawers this morning and I came across a packet of photos taken when we lived in Nova Scotia. We lived there from 2000 to 2004, almost 4 years to the day.
We lived in Lawrencetown, a small community outside of Dartmouth. We had an acre of land with just a small part cleared. Most of it was tree covered, which was how we wanted it.
This was the view from the back deck. Trees, trees. Lovely to look at, but not very good during a hurricane, which we went through in September 2003. We did lose a number of trees.
I have so many sunset pictures taken when we lived there. I never in my life have seen such beautiful sunsets.
This is Lawrencetown Beach, about a ten minute drive from our house. This was one of our favourite places to walk.
Our garden. We had one ton of soil brought in to make it. Chuck built the raised bed for me and I filled it with the soil. It grew like crazy! Our neighbours complained of animals raiding their gardens but we never had any trouble.

Lastly, here is our cat Linus. He owned us from 1984 to 2003. In this photo he was around 18 years old. He was smart, snuggly and loved everyone.

Cooler and drier here which is a relief. Wherever you may be, have a great morning, afternoon, or evening.                                                    Robin

  1. It's nice to see those photos, even though that's way too much snow, thanks. Do you miss it? I'd miss the space, the lot, I think. The privacy. Maybe not the work to maintain it. LOL.

Linus was beautiful! What a love.

    1. I miss it in some ways. I do miss the space we had, but it was lots of work to keep up. I miss the beautiful scenery around every corner(or so it seemed). The people were great, very friendly.
Thank you for your kind comment about Linus. I miss him so much still! Looking at his picture again was hard. I know you have been through it a few times too Kim. Have a nice evening.

  2. Nova Scotia looks so beautiful. One day I would love to visit.
Linus was so precious, you are lucky he lived to 18. My Angel Bobo passed one day after his 18th birthday.

    1. There was a lot more snow than that many times. One of the reasons we left! It is a very beautiful province. Linus was old but he was pretty spry up until 18 when he started to get frail.

Linus was always a very happy cat.
Thanks for your compliment on the water pictures. I have been blessed,I think, to have lived my life up until now near water of some sort be it lake, bay, or ocean.
