Free as a Bird

I've noticed the past few days numerous immature Robins in our yard. I have 4 bird baths all around the house which I noticed are pretty dirty everyday when I clean them so I suspect they are using them quite a bit. I was standing at an upstairs window when I noticed eight immature Robins eating in the front yard. I grabbed a camera and here is the results.
I must have taken twenty photos but they moved so quickly it was hard to get clear shots.

This photo was from quite far away. They were eating in our neighbours yard. I can still hear them cheeping out in the yard as I type this.
Yesterday after lunch I was doing some housework and I wanted to ask Chuck something. I looked all through the house for him but could not find him. I just happened to look out the family room window and I spotted him. We live on a corner lot and he was going along the edge of our lot pulling all the weeds along the street. Tedious, boring job but it does look so much better. What on Gods green earth did I do to deserve a man like this?
Ever faithful Chippy having lunch at one of the feeders. He is getting pretty tame.
Another flower popped out on the dahlia plant. Not quite as white tipped as the other one.
We are off to visit my Mum again tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing her.
Take care and enjoy your day!

  1. Young robins! So adorable.

In the second photo, the feathers on the juvenile robin's back look strange. Are juveniles' feathers speckled, or were those pin feathers?

    1. I believe it's feathers are speckled on his back as they are on his chest. In my bird book it is called spotted.
      Glad you enjoyed the photos.

  2. The young robins are cute, I like their speckles.

Chuck is VERY industrious. I can't say that I've personally had any industrious men in my life, more's the pity. Hang onto him. LOL.

Have a lovely visit with your mum tomorrow!

    1. Chuck isn't going anywhere! When I first started dating him back in 1982 he was fixing my Mum's car for her and she turned to me and said"Don't let him go!" I replied I had no plans on doing that.
Take care Kim and talk soon.

    1. Hi Summer Your Robins in the U.K look a bit different then they do here. I recently purchased a postcard book of birds from England and the Robins look smaller with a bit different colouring. Both are beautiful!

  6. I have a Dahlia that looks identical to yours. It also has about three variations in the amount of purple/white in each flower. Have a pleasant visit with your mom.
