“How do I say goodbye”

 

As I sat down to write this post I noticed it was exactly three years ago today I did the last update.

Not a happy update but I thought a few of you would see this .

Mum has been in assisted living for six years. The last six months her health declined quite a bit. In the last month she had had a couple falls with the last one landing her in hospital. It was determined she had at most a week to live. Chuck and I went to see her one morning. My brother Bob was there and to the surprise of he and the doctors she woke up that morning fairly lucid and very chatty. Chuck and I were able to have an incredible conversation with her. We said our “I love you’s” and what a great Mum she had been. She called me “Toots” ,a childhood nickname she hasn’t called me in a long time.

The next day Mum’s health went rapidly downhill and she passed away on June 16th. She was 91.
