Bath time is Splash time.

Here we go again! Renovating that is. Our home was built in 1990. At that time the previous owner put in very good fixtures and they have held up very well. But they are rather dated and not quite to our taste. This vanity is going and being replaced with a white maple vanity and a blackish granite countertop. An under mount sink and new taps will replace the old ones.  The young man that is removing everything has just purchased a home and is going to take the vanity for his bathroom. I am glad it is going to be reused. Less in the landfill! The mirror is gone (another man is taking it) and being replaced with a smaller one that matches the vanity. The light is going too.
Smallish shower stall but everything still functions. A larger glass shower with white tile behind it is going in.
I DO NOT care for the cabinet above the toilet, but it is where I store my makeup. A cabinet matching the vanity is being put up there.
I love that the bathroom has two windows. Very bright. We had three bathrooms in our last home and no windows in any of them.
The tub is staying but we are changing the white stripy tile behind it. The grey tiles are staying as is the floor as it is marble.
The job is expected to take two weeks if everything goes according to plan. My blog posts may not be daily or terribly interesting as we will not be going anywhere for awhile. Sorry!
Has anyone else done any renovations lately?
We hope this is the last of the BIG renovations.
Take care and have a good day.
Robin

    1. We have done many renovations over the last six years, but I too hate the upheaval. But like with the kitchen I know it is worth it!

  3. Sounds like all good ideas for your remodeled bathroom. I don't know what it is like to have someone come in and do something like that. We always do everything and I mean everything ourselves!!
    I guess building a cabin isn't exactly renovating something. : )

    1. Chuck and I do not have any experience tiling so we wanted to leave that to the experts as there is a lot of tiling to do. Anything else we will tackle just like you and Ken.
Looking forward to seeing your finished cabin!

  4. Your newly renovated bathroom will so be worth the mess, not to mention the expense. I'm looking forward to seeing the end result.

    1. I am very much looking forward to the new bathroom. The shower was so small and cramped and I didn't care for the white countertop on the vanity. Everything just needed to be updated.
      Have a nice day.
