Do You Want To Know A Secret?

I haven't told my family or my local friends that I have a blog. And I don't know if I ever will.
I imagine them thinking " What would Robin write about that I would be interested in reading?"
I assume most of you have told your families and friends that you have a blog. What was their reaction?
Do you think about someone else's thoughts and feelings as you write your post?
I have been thinking lately that I would tell some of my friends and my sister that I have a blog. I know the first thing my sister would say. "Why didn't you tell me?"
I have met so many wonderful people over the last fours months I have been blogging.
I found a way to share my photo's with other like minded people.
And Chuck and I have found a very special friend in Kim.
It thrills me to no end when someone halfway around the world leaves a comment. I love seeing how other people live their lives, I hope they enjoy seeing how I live mine.
All the caring about people is wonderful too. We share in each others joys and sorrows.
Tomorrow will not be a very pleasant day for me. Gum surgery at 8:00 a.m. Think about me!

Have a wonderful evening.
Robin

  1. Oh Robin, you have really expressed my feeling here. I honestly feel like my blogging friends are the best friends I have ever had. I was afraid to mention my blog at first to my sister and family and friends, but little by little they all found out. The news spreads fast and I've had only compliments. There are a few people locally that I wish did not know that I blog. I certainly will be thinking about you and your surgery tomorrow. Especially since I went through something similar three weeks ago. It will be over before you know it. Take care. Henny

  2. I never told my parents about my blog (mainly because of our political differences), but several of my friends know. Blogging is an excellent way to express thoughts and meet like-minded people.

    1. I really have enjoyed meeting all the different bloggers. Makes the world seem smaller.

  3. Robin, do what feels right for you regarding your blog. In my case, I'm sorry my mom knows about both of them, because there are things that I sometimes want to express but don't because I know she's reading.

Anyway. Your photos today are wonderful, my cyber perk for the day.

All fingers and paws crossed for you tomorrow.

    (((Hugs)))

    1. I am really torn on what to do, Kim. I know my sister will be upset I didn't tell her.
Thanks for your lovely words about my photos. I did enjoy taking them.
Give those boys a snuggle for me.

    2. If you want to post about something that is touchy, family wise, or if any of your family and friends is given to drama, think long and hard about it. But if you have no intention of blogging about something sensitive, then it probably doesn't matter.

For the record, my dad knows about the blog but never reads it. He could care less about anything that doesn't involve him directly... But he's always been that way. :-/

      Anyhow. good luck today!

    3. Thanks for the advice Kim. I go back and forth on this. I think for the time being I will leave things as they are.
      Take care and talk soon.

  4. We just love your photos!
My family and friends know that I blog and the vast majority NEVER read either of my blogs. My friends outside of the blogging world could care less and the same goes for my family (which can be rude and frustrating)
Good luck with your surgery tomorrow!

  5. I have very conflicting feelings about telling relatives about my blog. My 2 sisters know but my brothers and SILs don't. None of my husband's family knows and I'm not even sure WHY I feel I don't want them to. My kids all know but I think only my youngest son bothers to read it ( and will often refer to something I've said... which makes me quite happy that he bothers). I do know that I feel I have very nice blogging friends and I look forward to checking who has posted what in the evening when my day is "done".

I sure will be thinking of you tomorrow ( 5 A.M. here if I'm right about the time difference but since I seem to wake up around then anyway I can send positive thoughts and prayers your way).

As I said to Kim, I think I will leave things as they are for now re: the blog.

  6. I started my blog for my friends and family. I thought it would be a good way for them to know what I was doing. Funny thing happened. Only a few of them actually read it. It was then I discovered this world of blogging and have made so many great blogging friends. : )

    1. I though about that too Karen when I started this blog. All of my family is scattered around Ontario so I thought it would be a good way to keep in touch. But I never told them about my blog. I'm not a terribly confident person so I guess I thought they would think I was ridiculous writing a blog.
I do so enjoy meeting all of you and learning about your lives.
