Out On the Tiles

Slow going today with the tilers. The men that were originally going to come had to finish up another job so two other men showed up. Trouble was they had no idea about the job so we had to wait for the foreman to come and explain what had to be done today. After a number of Tim Horton's breaks and a sarcastic few words (I was getting a little mad) from me to the foreman they finally got going. Anyway this is what was done by lunchtime. Now you see why I was getting mad.
Anyhoo, yesterday the chickadees were very interested in Richard's saw. Richard was standing maybe 6 feet away as they were investigating the saw.
The bluejays are back at the feeders now that it is so much cooler.
Here are two of my favourite neighbourhood dogs. Bracken is on the left with his Dad Denis and Dublin is on the right with his Dad. The dogs don't care for each other as you can tell by the photo. Bracken is very dignified, 10 months old and cuddly. Dublin is 10 years old and loves to give kisses. Both of their Dad's are very nice too!
Female cardinal was back at the feeders this morning. She is looking a little rough.
This bluejay must have been waiting up in the tree as I put out the peanuts. I barely got back in the house and he was down grabbing them.

We are off on a very pleasant road trip tomorrow visiting Kim at "Musings on a Small Life". Looking forward to seeing Kim, Nicki and Derry!

I hope you have a great weekend. Here it is going to be cool and rainy. Oh well, good for the gardens!

Take care.
Robin

  1. Has there ever been any reno, any time in history, that didn't have a few glitches? Hopefully things will go more smoothly next week.

I wonder what the chickadees thought the saw was. :-) Or maybe it had an intriguing scent?

Bracken and Dublin are cuties. At least they're not lunging at each other, snarling. LOL.

As for the female cardinal, you'd look rough too if you'd spent the summer putting up with some obnoxious male and demanding babies. Ha! (I'm joking!)

Yes, see you tomorrow, looking forward to it. Take care.

    1. They finally are working a bit better this afternoon and have finished tiling around the tub. But lots of smoke breaks!
I am wondering if it was the sawdust in the saw that was attracting the chickadee. He was digging in the bag of the saw.
Yes,bracken and Dublin are cuties. They love to cuddle which is a bonus!
So true about the female Cardinal.
      See you!

  2. What happened to the female cardinal? Did she get in a fight with another bird, perhaps, or does she have an issue with her skin and feathers?

    1. I just did some quick reading about cardinals and it most likely is just moulting. Totally natural thing so no worries!

  4. Funny that the bird liked the saw. : )
I guess it's molting time again for the cardinal. She does look pretty bad.
    Enjoy your road trip tomorrow.
Maybe God is trying to teach you some patience with the bathroom. : )
