September Morn'

This September Morn' I am sitting in the dentist chair. By the time you read this I should be done my surgery (fingers crossed!)
Can you tell I love Autumn? I love the cooler temperatures, the smells, the changing leaves. the honking geese...it goes on and on. I also love decorating for Autumn. This is obviously our dining room which receives the bulk of my decorating skills (which aren't much!).
I do try to slip in some decorations in most rooms. This is my shelf in the kitchen.
My Mum and Dad loved Autumn too. My Mum always had ornamental corn hanging on the front and back doors and bowls of gourds all around the house. Often on Thanksgiving weekend (In Canada it is around mid October) we would drive down to New Hampshire (a 12 hour drive) for 4 days and enjoy the beautiful Autumn weather there. Yes, we were leaf peepers! I think that is what they are called.
This is the bowl on our kitchen table.
I purchased this mum yesterday at our local Canadian Tire. You can't tell in the photo but it is massive. We have a small hatchback and I had to put down one of the back seats to fit it in the trunk. All for $9.99.
This is in the front hall. I haven't completed decorating there yet.
This is the small table at the top of the stairs. Chuck's Grandmother painted this picture 50 years ago. We are fortunate to have a few of her paintings.

I hope you are able to get out and enjoy the beautiful Autumn weather. I know I will!

Take care.
Robin

  1. I hope you're done now too, Robin. Take it easy today, okay?

I love all your fall decorations! I used to decorate seasonally...until Nicki came into my life. LOL. Now I have almost nothing left, but then, you know I'm purging so that *when* (WHEN, not IF!!!!) I get the opportunity to move, I will have very little to pack. :-p

Anyway, you do a great job with the decorations; they look wonderful!

I love the painting Chuck's grandmother did -- those are my colours! :-)

    Sending healing vibes and purrs!

    1. Hi Kim, I am back from the dentist. It wasn't nearly as bad as I imagined. The freezing is gone and I just feel a little pain. The packing that is put in your mouth is no thrill! Blaaah!
Anyway glad you like the decorations. I have scaled back a bit in the last few years. I do love the painting too. She had so many lovely ones she painted covering her apartment walls.
Thanks for sending the healing vibes. I felt quite relaxed as the surgery was going on. I brought my book with me and I just kept thinking " I want to get back to my book!"
      Take care and talk soon.

    2. Hurrah that all went well! Here's hoping that you only ever feel "a little" pain! So glad it went well and that you weren't having difficulties during the surgery. (I think I'd have needed ativan or whatever it is. LOL.)

    1. I am glad the dentist is done for now. The mum is not only massive but very heavy too. I was surprised when I lifted it up.

    1. The dentist was gentle, the hygienist needs to get a better bedside manner though. Rather rough!
I love the little pumpkins too.

  4. I love Autumn and I love decorating so of course I love what you`ve done!!

I`m so glad your oral surgery wasn`t totally horrible and that you`re feeling `just a little pain`. Hopefully you heal quickly. Meanwhile you get to eat lots of ice cream and jello.
