There's a kind of hush.

With all the hot, humid weather this week it has been very quiet at the bird feeders. All the creatures come early in the morning or later in the evening. We walked over to the cemetery the other morning for a change. The sun was just coming up.
This female squirrel loves to flake out on the deck railings.
This grackle enjoyed a cool bath yesterday.

We finally heard from the car insurance people. The appraiser ( who is an independent appraiser) came by yesterday to take a look at the poor car. He feels it should be written off and we be paid the appraised value. Now the report goes back to the insurance company and we wait for the verdict.

Long weekend this weekend so I hope everyone has a wonderful time whatever you may be doing. We are starting to paint the upstairs bedrooms as the master bath is being gutted starting Tuesday. Why do we do this to ourselves????

Take care.
Robin

Chuck is continuing with the painting as I type this. We just have to decide on a colour for our bedroom.

  3. Great that you finally heard from the car ins. people. Hope that gets settled soon.

Home improvement projects have a way of looking so do-able from a distance but when the day comes it is so messy and no fun!

    1. We booked the new bathroom a couple of months ago and it seemed so far off. Famous last words!

  4. Birds are so funny bathing. Come to think of it, I haven't seen a bird using a birdbath this summer. I keep water in two in the yard. Your title sure goes with the first picture...it looks so quiet.

    1. I love watching the birds bathing. They really seem to enjoy it. I have 4 birdbaths around the yard and they all get used everyday.
