"New Day."
It's done! We firmed up the house purchase. We are not homeless in 76 days!
Our new home is in the town of Brighton. It is a small town with a population of around 10,000 people.
We had the house inspected Tuesday morning. I arrived 15 minutes or so before the inspector and our real estate agent. I just wanted to get a feel of the house. I knew the sellers were both at work so I hopped out of the car and just listened. I noticed the sellers have two bird feeders so that bodes well.
As I was standing there thinking "Is this the place for us?" a beautiful Siamese cat walked by. To most people that may not mean anything. I grew up with two Siamese cats who were my constant companions. This one looked just like our female, Sonya.
Anyway, the inspection went great. An hour and a half later I (Chuck couldn't get off work) was told the house is in fantastic shape and has been very well looked after. What a relief!
I took this photo out of one of the upstairs windows. This looks towards Lake Ontario. The house has many gardens which I am itching to get at. We take possession two weeks before our closing date of our current home. We want to do a few things at the new house before moving in. A big Thank You to Kim for all her kindness through this 3 month ordeal. We couldn't have got through this without you!
Take care and have a good day!

Congratulations, Robin! I'm thrilled for you both and hope you'll be happy there until it's time to move west. Fingers crossed for quiet neighbours! :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Kim! Fingers and toes crossed for quiet neighbours!
DeleteYay you!! So glad things are coming together. And yes, the fact that the owners have 2 bird feeders is a sure sign they'll take care of your feathered friends( and hopefully the furry ones).
ReplyDeleteThanks G.M! Here's hoping everything comes together!
DeleteHow exciting, a new chapter. Looking forward to seeing your new gardens xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Cheryl! It will be awhile until I post any photos. Everything needs a good trimming and tidying.
DeleteOh that is great news. So glad things went so well. It will be fun getting to learn and know your new neighborhood. I look forward to hearing and seeing all about it.
ReplyDeleteThanks Karen! It is always interesting getting to know your new neighbourhood. That's something you and I have done with our husband's career's isn't it??
DeleteSoooooo happy for you!! "Many gardens???" OMG how wonderful! The Siamese cat was DEFINITELY a good omen. Couldn't be happier for you and that Kim is a gem! catchatwithcarenandcody
ReplyDeleteThanks Caren! There are gardens placed all around the house and yard. I like to think the cat was on omen. Yes Kim is great, we do love her!
Deletecongratulations to you both.
ReplyDeleteThanks Gill!
DeleteThat's excellent news. Everything is going well. Were the bird pictures taken on your new property? The cardinal nand yellow-breasted bird are wonderfully colourful. The first one is almost two bright to look at. What species is that?
ReplyDeleteThanks! The bird photos were all taken at our present home. The first photo is a Goldfinch. In the winter these birds lose their yellow colour and as Spring approaches they get yellower and brighter. A sure sign Spring is coming. I heard some when I was at our new home for the house inspection.
