"September Morn"
During the week Chuck and I are up at 5:00 a.m. to be out the door by 5:30 a.m. to get a walk in before Chuck goes to work. We do this mid -April to usually mid- October. I don't like walking in the heat and by the time Chuck gets home at 4:00 p.m. it can be quite warm.
On the weekends we TRY to sleep until 6:00 a.m. and go for a walk then. This time of year it is dark at 5:30 a.m. so we really enjoy walking in the daylight on the weekends.
I love hitting the road early in the morning too. Not as much traffic and places are not too busy yet.
Smokey is at the deck door waiting for his breakfast most mornings at 5:00 a.m.
Great little farm (and farmstand!) with a gravel pit in the background.
Clouds over Lake Ontario.
The clouds left over from the hurricane made their way up here along with a storm. Boy oh boy did we get rain! One and a half inches of much needed rain (never thought I would say that this year after our very wet Spring!) and quite a thunder and lightening storm.
Janice and I were chatting early one morning and Miss Kitty joined us. Janice took this with her phone.
The Magnolias are set to bloom.
We are fortunate to have great views of the sky in our little town. I think our tallest building is three stories high.
This gladiola is from a beautiful garden at one of the Bed and Breakfast's in town. The house is over 100 years old and lovely too. I must get a photo to show you.
I am really enjoying this cooler weather. I find I have so much more energy. I know some of you are still having stifling heat. I hope you get some relief soon!
Enjoy the rest of your week!
Robin

Lovely photos as always, Robin. The horses make my heart ache, of course. ::Wistful sigh::
ReplyDeleteThe cooler weather is wonderful -- I'm glad I'm not on the west coast now, with the unprecedented heat! Crazy weather patterns.
BTW, the only thing I want to be doing at 5:30 in the morning is drinking coffee. I'd prefer to still be in bed. LOL.
Have a great day!
Hin Kim, after not having horses for a couple years this particular farm now does. Lovely to see each time we drive by.
DeleteI am really enjoying this cooler weather. We are sleeping like logs!
It is getting harder and harder to get up at 5:00. It is still dark as we head out the door. I am counting down the time until Chuck retires (again!)
Take care.
You are surrounded by beauty, appreciate it, and know how to photograph it. Every photo is wonderful. Thanks! Smokey is not only smokey in color, but his texture even gives him the look of smoke.
ReplyDeleteHi Mitchell, I really love living in this community! It is the first time we have lived in such a small town.
DeleteOf the seven cats that come around we only know for sure two of their names. The other ones I wait until a name comes to me. Most of them do come when I call out the names.
Hope you are having a wonderful time in New York!
I'm loving the cooler weather! It's cardigan season!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Valerie, isn't this a wonderful time of year?? I find I just am happy all day not being hot.
DeleteHave a great week!
Hello, I prefer the early morning walks too. The heat later in the day can be awful. Your first sky photo is gorgeous. I love the pretty flowers and your cute kitties. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteHi Eileen, another early morning walker, that's great!
DeleteI took the first photo just after we had a huge rainstorm.
Glad you enjoyed the photos!
We were very lucky, to not get as much heat/humidity, this summer. But still, Autumn is always lovely. Except today!!!!! R-a-i-n! Will not see the Full Harvest Moon, tonight. -sigh-
ReplyDeleteYou are so lucky to not have tall buildings, cutting off your sky view! :-) Here, it is nature, cutting off mine.
Gorgeous photos.
Your Miss Kitty is simply gorgeous, such lovely coloring. -happy sigh-
Enjoy your early walks. Perfect time, I'd say.
Hi Luna, just like you we didn't have too hot and humid a Summer. My kind of Summer!
DeleteI remember you have trees blocking your view. When we lived in Nova Scotia we had the same thing. Sometimes I felt like I was surrounded!
Have a wonderful week!
I am really loving the cooler weather, I have more energy and have been out and taking my long walks a lot more! Beautiful series, Robin, thank you so much for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHi Linda, I love walking too in the cooler weather. I feel like I could just go on and on. But Chuck has a bad knee so we can only walk so far.
DeleteGlad you enjoyed the photos!
I like hearing about your days...love seeing the kitties...and oh, we have so enjoyed the skies. All summer! They are just gorgeous today!
ReplyDeleteHi Rose, I too like hearing about other peoples days. I always find it interesting to see where other people live.
DeleteThe skies have been fabulous this year. I even have my friend Janice taking cloud photos!
Take care.
Smokey has that HUGE tomcat head! And his fur is just delicious. This week, I have to be at the office 3 hours earlier than normal, and am considering leaving it this way. Which means waking up early, like you two.
ReplyDeleteHi Vicki, Smokeys head is huge! He is very muscular too. He eats very well, the only time he wouldn't eat was when I tried some all natural food that was on for a great price at our local grocery store. He wouldn't touch it! Give him a can of Friskies and he is happy.
DeleteI am by nature a morning person so I do enjoy getting ups and walking early. Not in the Winter so much!
Haver a great week!
Gosh, you really are an early bird! It's feeling very autumnal here in Yorkshire in the U.K.. Summer seemed to end early, but I don't mind now, I just don't know where time goes xx
ReplyDeleteHi Cheryl, the Summer has slipped right by. I have been reading and seeing you are cooling off too.
DeleteHave a good week!

Hi Tabbies, Miss Kitty and Smokey rarely sleep in. Today I felt horrible because I did not get up until 6:30! They both let me know they were not happy.
DeleteHi Laura, glad you enjoyed the photos! I love the pink gladiola too.
Have a wonderful week!
Your day starts very early. Do you go to bed early too?
ReplyDeleteThe first image is outstanding.
Hi Karen, we tend to be in bed just before nine o'clock but will read, listen to the radio for another half hour or a little more. We are not much T.V. watchers.
DeleteGlad you like the first photo!
I'm a morning person too, but maybe not quite as early as 5:30.
ReplyDeleteYou take such amazing pictures!! Love that first one.
Hi Granny Marigold, Everyone in our family except my Mum are morning people. And we all married night owls! Chuck has come around and is a morning person now after 35 years.
DeleteHave a wonderful week!
Goid for you for getting up early to walk. Mornings are the best time if day.
ReplyDeleteHi Linda, I have always been a morning person. I love getting out and walking and listening to the day starting.
DeleteLooks like we are going to have a nice week weather-wise. Hope you have a good one!
That first photo is just amazing.😀
ReplyDeleteI don't like walking when it's too hot either but I'm too lazy to get up that early lol. I'm glad fall and cooler weather is on the way.🐝
Have a lovely week.
PS, Smokey is sooooo cute.🐱
Hi Geraldine, glad you enjoyed the photos!
DeleteI am by nature an early morning person so I really enjoy the early morning walks. But I do have much more energy in the cooler weather.
Smokey IS very handsome isn't he???
Take care.
Such a pleasant post. - Summer was very dry and hot here. Starting to get cooler weather this week but still no rain. - Loved the kitties.
ReplyDeleteHi Ida, we barely had any hot weather this Summer after a very wet Spring. Now we are getting a bit dry.
DeleteGlad you enjoyed the kitties!
