Hope everyone is having a good week. I was just getting my lunch ready today when I saw a flash of blue out by the feeders. A Bluejay! With the return of cooler weather more birds are coming back to eat. I saw my first Junco this morning. Anyway, my new camera was upstairs and knowing how flitty a Bluejay can be I grabbed my old camera (always in the kitchen) and dashed to the window.
I had sprinkled out pumpkin seeds and dried cranberries about a half hour before. Well, it paid off! Many critters were out there enjoying them and the sunflower seeds I had put out in the feeders yesterday.
The Bluejay posed nicely for quite a few photos. It was watching the squirrel down below snacking on pumpkin seeds.
I see the chipmunks cheeks are full of sunflower seeds.
Perched on the edge of the small birdbath.
He (she?) kept a close eye on the squirrel.
It finally managed to grab a pumpkin seed and flew up into a tree to enjoy it. I snapped a number of photos and looked at the clock. Thirty minutes had gone by!
This was last night's sunset. I was getting in the wash and turned to look over my shoulder. I couldn't believe my eyes. I flung the wash in the baskets and raced upstairs to look out my computer room window. Luckily that is where I usually keep my new camera so out it came. I haven't adjusted the colour, this is what it looked like.
It was fading quickly and only lasted for a few minutes. So glad I went out to get the wash in!
Our maple trees are starting to turn. This one is always the last one.
I am participating in a black and white challenge on Instagram. For seven days you post a black and white photo. I think this was Day Two.
This was Day Three's photo. I do like how this one turned out.
Rainy, rainy weekend is coming up. We had a road trip planned but decided to wait for better weather.
